Way back Edward was honored for doing what all military men are told NOT to do... volunteer for something... this was different... Re-boarding your ship to save it! Over time the USCG press release to the family, torn and crumbled was forgotten by the recipient; but not the family.

69 years later the citation to accompany the award of the Coast Guard Commendation Medal was re-presented to Edward.
